There are several cat flaps available suitable for wall fitting - for either solid or cavity walls. Tunnel sections can be bought for these flaps which push together to form a tunnel of the required length to line the depth of the wall. The Catmate Elite range is probably the best place to start looking.

I have recently taken on a very nervous black female cat who has been badly neglected. She dislikes being touched or handled, lashing out with teeth and claws then runs behind the settee... any ideas on how we can help her?

Tanya: have a look at my other comment on "Cat Flaps" in this same category. There's a URL to a site that tells you how to stop cats getting in. As for the black female cat... patience, trust, etc. Perhaps try feeding her snacks from your hand without touching her initially, then gradually moving closer until she rubs against you, lets you get away with the lightest touches, etc.
