As I had this item professional installed in the back door, I cannot comment on if it was easy or not to install. However, I can certainly say that my car (large one) is very happy at being able to get through this one much easier than the last. One more VERY IMPORTANT added blessing is that although the magnet is much larger than the previous little round magnetic ball, it does not allow any cat in which may have the smaller one. As I have a BIG problem with a particular cat in my neighbourhood, I am delighted to say that this cat CANNOT now get in and eat all my cat's food. Yeh, such an added bonus and totally unexpected. Thank you.
